Mindful Strength

Oct 19, 2017

Shannon Marion is an inspiring physiotherapist that gets in touch with her client's recovery needs as well as their day to day movements. She really cares about how people move, and what a movement practice can do for people outside of the clinic. Shannon is a manual physiotherapist with over fifteen years of experience, she is a life long learner of movement, a business owner, and a big part of the Mindful Strength community. Kathryn and Shannon have become friends over the last two years, they work together to help clients get the very best results, and they take walks in the woods to discuss how movement and rehabilitation can become one.

Kathryn and Shannon discuss why being down on the floor is so important, and how closed chains can help us in more ways than we think. They talk about body awareness and how crawling movements help to develop proprioception. Shannon gives us some great information on motor control, and stability, and the differences between the two. They talk about how to work with spinal flexion, in a world that has becomes obsessed with the neutral spine.

Thanks for listening, you can learn more at kathrynbruniyoung.com there are online courses, as well as many workshops and weekend immersions coming up all over the world! Kathryn also teaches a teacher training program in Cornwall Ontario in July of 2018.
